Last night, three talented LCF students fought off the competition at the Graduate Fashion Week Diversity NOW! Awards run in association with i-D magazine.
Brogan Toyn, BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Menswear, beat applicants from across the country to win first prize in the clothing design category and also claimed overall first prize with the Judges’ Choice award.
Jessica Ng, BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear, was highly commended in the clothing design category and Roxanne Farahmand, BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery, was honoured with a special mention to appreciate her hearing aid design which went beyond the established categories.
Run by All Walks Beyond the Catwalk, whose mission is to create a diverse future for fashion, and leading style and culture magazine, i-D, the competition recognises the students’ determination to shape a diverse future through creative innovation.
Rob Philips, Creative Director for the School of Design and Technology, said that he was “very pleased and proud” of the students.
For Brogan this success comes in a year where her talent is being spotted by other key fashion leaders: her collection has been featured by WGSN and was recently sent to New York to be shot for W magazine.
