Final year students from BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear, BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Menswear, and BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles courses have collaborated with leading denim manufacturers, ISKO™.

ISKO™, a part of SANKO Group, is the world’s leading denim fabric producer and has offices in more than 35 countries worldwide, producing 200 million metres of fabric each year.

Students have competed to ‘Design Denim’ – working with its uses, finish, detail, form and function using ISKO’s ™ distinctive denims. The School of Design & Technology students were given four weeks in which to realise their works within a denim capacity. They looked at pushing denim’s possibilities, its processes and outcomes in order to create original pieces fit for the high street, ready-to-wear and even couture.

LCF students visualised the future look and appeal of denim proving themselves to be the next generation of industry players.

As one of the most important textiles in the fashion industry, denim is a wardrobe staple for so many, offering endless creative and commercial potential; a challenge that innovators, ISKO™, and LCF were proud to take up as part of this partnership.

The winner of the collaborative competition will be announced on July 10 when the garments go in front of the judging panel which is to include a representative from ISKO™.
